4-Way Solution for Powering Light Bar with 2025 Ram 1500 without Sensing Trailer Connection

Updated 04/02/2026 | Published 03/30/2026

Question:

I tried to use the Curt 56584 harness to power an OPT7 light bar on my 2025 Ram 1500 Limited. The fitment is good and the wiring work as expected. The problem is that the truck is sensing that a trailer and it turns off the rear sensors and plays with the blind sport sensors as well. It appears it is sensing voltage on the trailer connector and it believes there is a trailer in tow, except it is just the light bar. This configuration worked well in my previous truck 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie. Do you have any recommendations for another harness for the this application on a 2025 Ram 1500 Limited?

Hey Emilio, thats a bummer to hear but the only solution would be a 4-way kit that bypasses all of the vehicle wiring like with the Curt # C59236 to power your light bar. This will require splicing into the vehicle taillight so it's not a simple plug and play install but it for sure will not cause the issue you are experiencing right now. In pictures that lightbar you have looks incredibly bright!
