Is There A Portable Water Filter And Battery Operated Pump For Off-Grid Water While Boondocking?

Published 03/24/2026

Question:

We do a lot of boondocking in Utah and usually bring extra water, but I’d love to be able to refill from a stream if needed. Is that realistic with these systems?

Mark, that’s exactly the kind of scenario the ARX+ # GB54FR was built for.

It has its own 12V pump and battery, so it can pull water from a stream or container and run it through a 4-stage filtration system before it ever reaches your RV. That’s what makes it different from the other kits - they rely on pressurized hookups.

As long as you’re mindful of your water source, it’s a really practical way to extend your time off-grid without hauling as much water.

Are you usually out for a few days at a time, or doing longer stays where refilling becomes more important?
