Will The B&W Patriot Fit on the Curt Adapter Rails # C88KR

Updated 03/23/2026 | Published 03/18/2026

Question:

looking to confirm if my rail system BandW patriot 18k hitch NON slider will fit up to this puck system adapter kit. I am looking to upgrade my truck and the new one has the puck systems. Would save a good bit of money on a new hitch.

Hey Mike! Happy to help.

Yes, the Curt Adapter Rails # C88KR will work with your B&W Patriot 18K hitch. Your Patriot is designed to mount to standard above-bed rails, and this adapter provides those same industry-standard rails that you are currently using in your truck.

That means you’ll be able to reuse your current hitch without needing to replace it the whole thing. Major win for you!

What truck are you looking at upgrading to?

Curt rail kit works just fine. It will raise the hitch 1 to 1.5 inches above the old standard rails (maybe 2+ above the bed). Be sure to assemble with LOOSELY started bolts and then torque tighten everything once it is secured in the pucks.

@MikeA Thanks for sharing your tips, Mike. Keeping the connections for the puck loose is very important to make for a less frustrating install. Thanks again!

Curt Adapter Rail C88KR works fine in my 2026 Ford F350 with pucks. My hitch is the Reese 16K so I was able to reuse my old hitch with this rail adapter.

i BOUGHT THE CURT ADAPTER RAIL KIT. It fit my puck system on my 2025 chevy 2500HD fine, just had to adjust pucks so it would lock down. Then I install my reese 16K non-slider, fits fine. I have not hooked up to camper yet. I live in the north east ,so I did not get camper out yet. Maybe next week I will try it. I just want to see if the height is going to be ok.

@Mark Let me know how everything goes once you can. I know it can get pretty cold out there so I'll send warm weather thoughts your way, Mark.

@TimT Yup, you're right. At some point there became an industry standard so you could use pretty much any hitch on any set on rails as long as they were following the standard.

When I purchased my 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax, I needed to move my 5th wheel hitch from my old Silverado to my new one. I had installed mounting rails on my old one at a tailer shop and was very happy to see the new puck system in my new truck. the B&W Patriot system worked perfectly with the puck system, however. Other than being heavy (solid iron), all you really have to do is to adjust the locking bars appropriately and that's it. I don't remember how much installation was on my last two trucks, but this definitely saved me money and my hitch fits with out issue.
