Can etrailer RampidRamps Bolt On Aluminum Ramps Work On Aluminum Deck Car Hauler?

Updated 03/10/2026 | Published 03/06/2026

Question:

Questions Asked About Part Number e47XV Is it OK to mount these ramps to an all-aluminum trailer with an aluminum deck? For reference the trailer is a Mission 2.0 Open Car Hauler 80inch x 18. It comes with two stored below the deck 72inch x 12inch ramps. I just don't want to drag them out all the time. I plan on hauling a subcompact tractor with implements, or a zero turn with 60inch deck, or a classic car that comes in about 4,000 pounds. One concern is that the tread area on these ramps is 11.75inch per the guy in your video. The tires on the tractor and zero turn are both 12. Is this too tight? Is there an option for a wider ramp? Thanks,

Hey there Ray!

So I went and talked to our head engineers on this project. They gave us the green light for using the etrailer RapidRamps 6' Long Bolt-On Trailer Ramps # e47XV on an aluminum deck trailer like yours! My concern was that the aluminum wouldn't be strong enough, but they ensured it wouldn't be an issue as the brackets and hardware will basically sandwich together and be plenty strong for your ramps.

As far as the 11-3/4" internal width of the ramp, that is definitely a 1/4" thinner than your tire as you said. I personally think it will work just fine as I've loaded cars and atvs that had tires a little wider than the ramp. I wouldn't stress!

This setup will look nice on that slick aluminum trailer. What do you plan to haul on it? I have a big tex 16 foot wood deck trailer and I'm installing these exact same ramps ( # e47XV) this week or next whenever I have time!
