Will Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit HYD44VR Fit Tandem Axle Trailer with 6k Axles

Updated 03/10/2026 | Published 03/06/2026

Question:

I have a 1994 tandem axle trailer. I believe they are 6K axles. I current have 12x2 Drums and would like to get a kick to switch to disc. I am looking at your Hydrastar kit Part HYD44VR for $1743.35. My question concerns the bearing sets. My current trailer uses the typical K3-310 bear/race/seal set, but the Hydrastar kit looks like only the inner bearing/race matches 25580/25520. The outer race/bearings appear different. The Hydrastar kit uses 15123/15245 where as I currently use LM67048/10 set in the drums. Will this kit work? Maybe the bearing race set changes with the rotor/hub? Please advise. Thanks

Hey Aaron, this is a great question but the bearing difference won't matter because both bearing numbers have the same inner diameter of 1.25 inch which means the intended spindle size fit is the same. So long story short the part # HYD44VR does fit and comes with the best components to convert your setup to an electric over hydraulic disc setup. What do you haul with your trailer?

Worked perfect on my 6k axles. Tremendous stopping power. There's a half-second delay while it builds up pressure, then it can easily stop the truck too.
