Question:

I have a three axle trailer for my boat, I would like to put bearing buddies on all of my bearings. I was told that the largest size bearing buddy is too small and that there is an adapter that makes it bigger to the right size. I don’t know what size it is offhand. I don’t know if there’s a whole bunch of different sizes, but I can’t imagine they’re being a ton. Hopefully this makes sense and hopefully somebody can send me a link or something to the two parts that I need.

Hey, Jared. Thanks for reaching out.

The biggest Bearing Buddy we have has an outer diameter of 2.441", that's part # BB77SR. To find the right Bearing Buddy you would want to measure the inside diameter of the hub bore where the grease cap presses in.

There aren’t any adapters made to allow a smaller Bearing Buddy to fit into a hub with a larger bore. There are spindle sleeves. Those slide over the seal surface area of the spindle, the smooth part where the grease seal rides. Over time that part of the spindle gets pitted and worn out causing grease leaks. A spindle sleeve would fix that.

It’s not truly an adapter, but it’s the only hub or spindle component that might be confused as one.

All the bearing buddies I have found are to small. I was told there was an adapter for the largest bearing buddy to make it a little bit bigger. Not smaller.

@JaredB I understand that, but there isn't an adapter or a sleeve of any sort to make the bearing buddy fit into a larger hub bore. What is your hub bore diameter?
