Question:

I’m researching the BAKFlip g2 bak26203rb bed cover for my 2012 ram 2500 with a 6’4” rambox and from rail to rail is about 50 1/2”. With the sliding rail tie downs shifted forward I’m able to transport 4x8 sheet goods with the tail gate up. That being said, my question is what is the interior dimension once the brackets have been installed on the interior of the side rails?

Hey, Greg.

The BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK26203RB attaches directly to the factory tracks already installed on your 2012 Ram 2500 already has. I completely understand why you asked about this, we don’t clearly explain that on our site, so I apologize for any confusion.

I’ve included a screenshot from our installation video showing the bracket that sits closest to the bulkhead. The remaining brackets are shorter than the tiedowns that you mentioned. Since the brackets mount at multiple points along the track, you’ll need to keep the cover in the upright position and remove them or slide them along the track along with your tiedowns when you need that space.

I also included a second screenshot from the video to help show the difference in length between the cover brackets and the tiedowns, though it may be a little difficult to see in the image. I’ve linked the full installation video below as well so you can take a closer look.

What do you mainly use your truck for?

I work construction and perhaps if you could tell me what the dimension of the bracket is as it projects off of the side rail then I could determine what the actual width would be. Thanks, Greg
