Question:
I’m upgrading the kitchen vent in our 2019 Grand Design Imagine. We cook inside a lot and want to clear odors fast. Is 400 CFM enough compared to the bigger MaxxFan Deluxe units?

Expert Reply:
Hey Eric, 400 CFM is strong for a mid-size travel trailer kitchen; some units are only rated at 100 cfm.
While the Deluxe roof vent/fan models like # MA00-07500K can move more air overall at 900cfm, the pivoting versions rated at 400cfm ( # MA36WV smoked lid and # MA96WV white lid) lets you aim airflow toward the stove area, which makes it feel more targeted and effective. For cooking odors, that directional control really helps.
If you want to vent even during bad weather, adding a FanMate cover # MA00-955001 in white or # MA00-955003 in smoke lets you keep airflow going without worrying about rain getting in.
Do you typically run a window open while cooking too, or rely fully on roof ventilation?
