Question:

Hello, I have a 2019 jayco jayfeather 27rl that has 2 dexter 3500lbs axles. I am looking to replace springs. part numbers i have found are as follows, Springs dx23cr-072-042-00 listed as 4 leaf 25 1/4 inches Bolt kit apubr-1 k71-731-00 Bronze bushings k71-291-00 I am pretty sure that these are the parts i will need but want to make sure before i purchase. side note i measured spring while loaded was not able to get of ground as it was in winter position. anyways it measured at 26 1/4 inch which i am guessing it would put it in the 25 1/4 range when unloaded. let me know what you think. Thank you for your time.

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out. You are on the right track here with the parts you mentioned.

Leaf springs can flex up to 1" when under a load so if you measured 26-1/4" loaded it definitely indicates a 25-1/4" spring which is pretty common for a 3,500 lb axle. So the Dexter # DX23CR spring you mentioned will work great for that.

The # APUBR-1 is also exactly right for the 3,500 lb 2-3/8" diameter axles. The # K71-291-00 bushing are correct too. Just make sure you grab four springs, two U-bolt kits and two sets of bushings.

Anything else you need to replace? Are your bolts and shackles all good?
