Yes, the Kit that comes with installing the hitch can be inside the hollow f the hitch itself. My 2 towing hitches fit perfectly into place, but as a DYI it took a bit of wiggling and realigning to get them on. Honda CR-V 1998 and 2001. The instructions were fairly good, but I still used a YouTube video to get a better sense of it.
