Could RV Baggage Door Replacement Latch 295-000078 Fit 2015 Palomino Backpak SS1500

Updated 02/13/2026 | Published 02/08/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a 2015 Palomino Backpak SS1500. Would this slam lock: be a correct fitting lock for an exterior storage door? It looks right, but I would like your opinion. Thanks

Hey Gene, the Global Link RV Baggage Door Slam Latch # 295-000078 that you referenced is a standard slam latch for RVs that is most likely what you are in need of as this fits standard RV baggage doors. The overall dimensions of this are 5" wide x 4-1/2" tall x 1-3/4" thick so you can compare that to what you have and verify. Either way let me know and I'll see if there's something else you need to look into.

The door lock I bought was for my FR Georgetown RV It was a perfect fit and even the color was identical to what I replaced The dimensions you mentioned looks like the same part I received but to be sure I would just go ahead and order it and if you need to return it E-Trailer will gladly accept the return and try to find the right part. These guys are great help and always there if you have any questions and not to mention the prices are reasonable if not better than Amazon and definitely less expensive than Camping World

Hi Gene, I tried to find some pictures of your camper. Your RV is a truck camper, correct? From what I could see, looking at a 2015 Sales Brochure, your RV has the more traditional latches found on most travel trailers. In my opinion, the latch you are considering will not work on your rig based on the pictures I could see. Now, looking at your RV's latches, and if they look like the part on E-trailer, go for it, and as someone else posted, if it doesn't work, you can return it.
