Question:

Good day, I have a new to me, 2016 f250 short bed that I want to use to tow my Cougar 23MLE. It does not have factory pucks. Is there a kit for the BW Slider that gives me all that I need? Thanks for your help.

Hey Bob, thanks for the information! There's two different B&W Sliders and mounting setups that will work with your 2016 Ford F-250 short bed since you don't have the factory puck system.

The first one is the B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400. This 5th wheel hitch will attach to the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit item # BWGNRK1111. This is a gooseneck hitch that has a square receiver the Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400 will attach directly to. One of the nice perks of this setup is when you aren't using your hitch you don't have to worry about 5th wheel rails in the bed.

The second option is the B&W Patriot w/ Slider item # BWRVK3270. This 5th wheel hitch will attach directly to the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails item # BWRVK2401. This is your standard 5th wheel rails in the bed type of setup. The custom fit brackets are going to install in pre-drilled holes in your F-250's frame.

I recommend going with the first option, the B&W Companion Slider item # BWRVK3400 and the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit item # BWGNRK1111. The Companion is one of the best hitches on the market. It has a 20,000 lbs capacity and will provide you with 12" of travel for making turns and backing. This setup also provides you with a gooseneck hitch and the opportunity to have a completely empty bed when you're not towing.

What kind of pin box do you have on your Cougar 23MLE?
