Question:

I’ve got a 2018 Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. Would the 1,200A be enough or should I step up to the 1,400A? it's winter here so might need it.

Hey Brandon! Thanks for the truck details - that helps a ton.

For a 5.7L Ram, the Projecta 1,200A jump starter # VX63NR can definitely do the job, but I do recommend stepping up to the 1,400A # VX73NR for full-size trucks. You get more starting headroom, especially if the battery is deeply discharged or it’s below freezing out.

The # VX73NR keeps the same easy operation and rapid recharge benefits as the smaller models, just with more muscle. If you ever plan to help someone else with a truck or SUV, that extra capacity pays off quickly.

If you just wanted a more affordable option then the 1,200A # VX63NR will still work just fine for you!

Good to know. I mostly worry about really cold mornings when the truck hasn’t moved in a few days. That’s when it seems to struggle.

@Brandon Oh yes, cold starts are where people really appreciate the extra capacity of this unit. That’s where the 1,400A # VX73NR tends to shine, especially if the battery is already weak or partially discharged. The nice part is once you get it started, the jump pack recharges itself off the alternator, so it’s ready the next time you hit one of those cold mornings.
