Question:
I have a 2020 Subaru Outback and wanted to get a Rustic Trail travel trailer, but I have a 4 pin and the camper is a 7 pin for the brakes. I see that there are 4 pin to 7 pin adapters, but do I also need…,,some other brake thing?

Hey, Anna!
Happy to help you out.
Since you already have a 4-pin you can use an adapter to be able to get the 7-way you're needing for your trailer. Now, it wont be a simple plug-in and go but, it isn't too difficult.
The adapter kit you will need is part # ETBC7. This kit will come with everything you need to be able to turn your 4-flat connector to a 7-way. The other part you need is called a brake controller, best one to pick up is going to be part # TK28BR. This controller is going to take the signal from when you brake and send it to your trailer as well as tell it how hard it needs to brake.
I've linked some helpful information about installing the adapter kit as well as our dealer locator. The dealer locator will help you find an installer near you based off what kind of install you're wanting done. These are installers that we deal with directly.
Let me know if you have any questions at all, big or small I'm here to help!
