I have a 2024 Toyota Highlander hybrid. I’d like a low profile roof platform and wondered if there is any thing like that for my car because during my Google searches nothing like what I want fits my car.

Hey Jessica. To add a platform rack to your 2024 Toyota Highlander hybrid, you'll want the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack for Fixed Mounting Points item # RR22AP.

The Rhino-Rack item # RR22AP measures 59" long x 49" wide x 1-1/2" tall. It comes with mounting hardware and brackets/legs that attaches the platform directly to the roof rails on your Highlander. The legs are 2-1/16" tall so the top of the platform is going to sit just over 3-1/2" above your roof rails.

What kind of gear do you plan on mounting to the platform?

Hi Jerred- Thanks for your response. I like the rhino platform-my next question is when I look at photos of this platform mounted on a roof-there are side rails-do these come included? Because when I look on RhinoRacks website I can’t find them listed separately. I’m planning to use this rack as extra storage for trips to the beach or possible a place to put bikes if that’s possible. It’s mainly for extra storage since the Highlander lacks in back seat room. I’d like to get some sort of box that sits on the platform-not one of those traditional storage long weird ones-but like an actual boxy shaped box-but meant for the roof. Hope this makes some sense. @JessicaS You're welcome! That's an awning someone attached to the side of the Rhino-Rack item # RR22AP. I attached that picture to show you how low the platforms going to sit. I didn't have any better pics and neither did Rhino-Rack. The Rhino-Rack item # RR22AP does work with bike racks and cargo boxes. You'll need to install the item # RR43137B to attach them to the platform. Unless you've got a short haul to the beach and are going to be strapping coolers and chairs directly to the platform, I recommend going with a set of crossbars like the Thule WingBar Edge Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points item # TH97MG. You'll be able to attach a bike rack or cargo box directly to the crossbars. I strongly recommend using a cargo box like the Rhino-Rack Zenith item # RRRMFZ66. I know this is one of those long ones you said you didn't want but the long low profile shape is what you want on your roof. If you put a large boxy one up there it'll feel like you have a parachute on your Highlander. The wind is going to hit it and push you all over the place on top of killing your gas milage.
