Question:

I have a Toyota Tundra 2022 SR5 CrewMax Short Bed. I am considering getting and Grand Design 100 Series 5th Wheel. I am having trouble in determining if there is either a rail kit or under bed mounting systems for my truck.

Hi Ingram!

There is one option for adding a 5th wheel to your 2022 Toyota Tundra SR2 with the short bed, but it is a very good option. And I'm not just saying that as it's the only one.

What you will need is the B&W Companion Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Turnoverball for Toyota Tundra - Dual Jaw - 20K # BW45XR. This gives you a gooseneck and a 5th wheel with the added benefit of there being no above bed rails in your bed, which I think is better. B&W makes the easiest to use sliding system and they are built to last right here in America.

Lazer S - Thanks for the quick reply - I am planning on having this done by a professional. As I am moving from a bumper pull to a 5th wheel - I am not as familiar with all of the necessary components needed. I assume that this system requires an under bed mounting system? If so what which one is needed also do they make a rail-kit version that could work? Again thanks for the assist. Ingram

@IngramQ The # BW45XR actually includes both the hitch as well as an underbed mounted gooseneck the 5th wheel hitch attaches to, so no other parts are needed. Oddly enough, I could not find any manufacturers (ones that we carry and otherwise) that make above bed rails for your specific truck.

@Ingamq The # BW45XR is made up of the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # BWRVK3400-5W and the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BW46FR. We put both parts together as one part number to make it easier. So when I said you will need no other parts, I really meant it.
