Why Would EOH Actuator Pulse Trailer Brakes

Question:

Have a Dexter brakerite system that just keeps pulsating after initial start up is this normal

Hey Josh, that pulsing is most likely the pump either priming or the brake controller in your truck not being in hydraulic mode and is pulsing the brakes looking for brake magnets to tell the controller that a trailer is connected. What controller do you have and is it in hydraulic mode? Does it show a trailer connection?

Brake controller is standard option in truck (Ram) and it's in electric over hydraulic mode. Is showing connection to trailer

@JoshP Hmm that is interesting. Does it seem to work okay overall? Like are the brake applying like they should?

@JamesonC seem weaker to me unless you really mash on the pedal or slide brake controller

@Josh Can the gain be raised on the controller to make it grab more aggressively? OEM controllers in general just don't love EOH actuators even if they are ones that say they were designed for them unfortunately.
