Can Bumper Spare Mount # TR-1 be Used with Aluminum Wheel

Question:
I have switched to aluminum wheels and cannot use the lower steel plate mount on this spare tire mount., what mount do you suggest? 205/75r15 tire. 15x5, 4.5 bolt .Thanks

Hey Richard, are you worried about dissimilar metals being in contact with each other with the part # TR-1 and causing corrosion? If so, the powdercoat would prevent that but otherwise you could insulate it with thin plastic like the stuff landscapers put down.

I cannot use the metal plate for the lower mount because the aluminum wheel casting does not have a flat surface for the plate to hold, plus the wheel is thicker. Is there another unit that you could recommend without a plate? Thanks
