Does Firestone Air Suspension Upgrade Work On 2025 Silverado 2500 With B&W 5th Wheel Hitch?

Question:

I installed a B and W 5th wheel hitch in my 2025 Silverado 2500. Do these Firestone air bags clear the in-bed hitch brackets?

Yes sir! The Firestone air bag kit with compressor # F64XV is fully compatible with in-bed hitches on the 2025 Silverado 2500. Firestone’s brackets mount to different factory points than the B&W rails, so they don’t interfere.

Just confirm the factory jounce bumper assembly is still in place (it always should be unless you’ve got a big lift). If you do have a lift kit and still have the factory jounce bumper brackets in place, I can help you match the right spacer.

Thanks Andrew. I’m pulling a 13k fifth wheel and the truck drops a couple inches when I load it. Will the airbags actually help bring the headlights back down and improve steering?

@Cliff Oh yeah, they will for sure Cliff. That's exactly what the # F64XV kit is designed to fix. When your Silverado squats under that 13k fifth wheel, it tilts the whole truck back, which points the headlights upward and unloads the front axle. Once you air the bags up to get the truck level again, the steering tightens, braking feels more solid, and your headlights get back where they belong.
