Air Bag Kit to Keep 2025 F250 King Ranch From Squatting When Hooking Up 5th Wheel RV
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 12/08/2025 >
Question:
Our 2025 F-250 King Ranch squats a couple inches when we hook up our fifth wheel camper. Would the Ride-Rite compressor kit help keep it level, or do I need a different setup?

Marcy, the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Spring Kit # F44XV is a great match for what you’re seeing. Fifth-wheel pin weight loads the rear axle hard, and these air bags were designed to bring the truck back to level without stiffening your ride when you’re unhitched. It's rated for up to 5k lbs.
Since the compressor is already built into the kit, you can air up from 5–100 psi right from the Firestone app. And because it’s single-path, both bags rise evenly - perfect for a centered 5th-wheel load.
What’s the pin weight on your trailer?
One last note: this kit is designed for factory suspension ride height, meaning, no lifted vehicles. If you have a lifted rear suspension setup, I'll find you another kit that will be compatible.

Our pin weight is right around 2,400 lbs. Is that too much for this kit, or still in the safe zone?
