Which Gen Y Nomad Adapter Let's Me Tow My 2020 North Point 315RLTS 5th Wheel With A Gooseneck Ball ?

Published 12/03/2025

Question:

I’ve got a 2020 North Point 315RLTS, and I keep seeing people mention Rhinos and 1621s. Do you know which one Jayco used that year? I’m trying to figure out whether I need the GY37ND or the GY57ND.

Valerie, Jayco used both the Lippert Rhino and the 1621 across the North Point line depending on floorplan and production runs. I believe you likely have the 1621 pattern. The only way to know for sure is to check the sticker on the pin box itself.

Here’s the breakdown once you find the tag:

If it says Lippert Rhino, you need the # GY37ND

If it says 1621, 1116, or 1716, you need the # GY57ND

Both install the same way, using the same bolt count you remove from the factory box minimum five Grade-8 bolts per side, torqued to 160 ft-lbs. And both require the # GY49GR safety chains once converted to a gooseneck setup.

If you want, Valerie, send me a photo of the tag and I’ll confirm the exact match or you can check out the attached article which shows you how to measure and find out which one you have.

One more thing to mention is that this pin box setup from Gen-Y is more of an affordable setup that does not have built-in cushioning to absorb the shock from the rough roads. If you actually want something more comfortable, let me know and I'll find a setup for you!
