Can You Convert 5th Wheel Hitch To Gooseneck On Grand Design Reflection 303RLS?

Question:

I’ve got a 2021 Grand Design Reflection 303RLS, and I’m so tired of wrestling with my 16K 5th wheel hitch. Can the Gen-Y Nomad bolt up to my trailer, or do these Reflections use something different?

Hey Heather! So most 303RLS units come with a Lippert 1621 pin box, and that’s a perfect match for the Gen-Y Nomad # GY57ND, which fits the 1621/1116/1716 bolt patterns right out of the box.

Grand Design has been pretty consistent with the 1621 over the years, but I always recommend checking your pin box tag just to be 100% sure before ordering. Once you confirm the number, the install is straightforward: remove the old box, reuse the same bolt count (minimum five Grade-8 bolts per side) torqued to 160 ft-lbs, and bolt up the Nomad.

And since you’re converting to a gooseneck setup, make sure you pick up the Gen-Y # GY49GR safety chains.
