Looking for Lithium Compatible Converter for 1989 S and S Camper

Updated 12/29/2025 | Published 12/02/2025

Question:

This ? Is not related to this part, but rather another RV ?. I have a 1989 SandS 9.5 truck camper. I would like to add a lithium 12v battery possibly. The Power Dynamics charge /controller is ancient! What’s an economical solution? Do I just buy a less expensive lithium battery charger.

Best option would be to replace your current converter/charger to similar rated one that is lithium compatible like the part # PD69RR that you referenced. Do you know what the amp rating is on your current converter? This one is rated for 45 amps so if that's what you have now this would be a great solution.

Hey, how did things go with replacing the old converter in your SandS camper with the lithium-compatible one? Once you confirmed the amp rating, did the new setup handle your 12V lithium battery the way you hoped? Your update could make it easier for others upgrading older campers.
