Hey Christopher, thanks for reaching out, and thanks for providing all that info it really helps. For that a 20K 5th wheel hitch is what I recommend. Specifically, a B&W Companion 20K slider.

Does your truck have the OEM 5th wheel prep package? If so, I recommend the following:

- B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3775

This will drop directly into the factory pucks. The slider is recommended for any short bed truck to help with clearance on tight turns. The B&W sliders are especially well built and the slider is very smooth and easy to operate. Made here in the USA too. They definitely come highly recommended.

If your truck does not have the OEM puck system, you can still do a 20K Companion setup, you will just need the B&W Turnoverball install kit, and the Turnoverball style 5th wheel hitch. We sell that as a full kit. Take a look at the following:

- B&W Companion Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Turnoverball for Chevy/GMC - Dual Jaw - 20K # BW45SR

The great thing about this setup is the Turnoverball install kit is actually a gooseneck hitch, so you will be set up for that if the need ever arises.

Does your truck already have the puck system? Have you hauled a 5th wheel before? Or will this be your first one?

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Hey Christopher, how did things go with the B&W Companion 20K slider for your Silverado? Did it give you the clearance you needed with your 44-foot fifth wheel? Your experience could help others setting up a similar short-bed truck.
