Hi Richard; how much does your setup weight? The answer to your question depends on the weight of the boat/trailer and the configuration of your 2017 Pacifica. It looks like the towing capacity can vary depending on how it is equipped so you need to check your owner's manual to find out how much you can tow. As long as the towing capacity of the van is high enough you can tow your boat trailer without hurting it.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C65CR you were looking at has a max gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs so if the vehicle can handle it so can the hitch. If you have the Limited, Touring L, or Touring L Plus with LED lights you need the # C56322 for wiring. If you have the LX or Touring with incandescent lights you need # C56399 instead. You will also need a ball mount like the etrailer # e66PR.

Hey Richard, did you get a chance to check your Pacifica’s towing capacity and see if it matched up with your boat and trailer weight? Knowing how that worked out could really help others looking to tow a small fishing boat with the same van. Your update could make it easier for the next person with a similar setup.
