Happy to help, Randy!

It really just comes down to what’s compatible with your truck and the weight rating you need.

If you can share the year, make, and model of your truck, along with your 5th wheel’s weight rating, I can help you find the perfect hitch.

I would be replacing CURT Helux™ King Pin w/ Coil Spring & Shock-Absorber.

I have a 2026 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW with 6.7L cummins engine and 3.42 rear end. The maximum trailer weight according to Dodge is 23,950. My trailer GVWR is 17,495. Even though I know a 20,000 lb fifth wheel hitch will work, I want a something larger in case I buy a heavier trailer. I forgot to mention I want a fifth wheel hitch that will give me the most cushion of a ride.

@Randy Thanks for your reply! I forgot to also ask if you had a factory prep so I'll go ahead and get you hitches that will work for both. Wanting to get one rated for a heavier trailer is always smart idea. It never hurts to get one rated higher. If your truck has a factory puck system, I’d recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch, part # BWRVK3600. It’s a solid, reliable option that fits perfectly with that setup. If you don’t have a factory prep package, the best choice would be the Curt A25 5th Wheel Hitch, part # C52BV. Both of these hitches work great with a Sidewinder, though neither includes built-in cushioning. There used to be a few hitches that offered that feature, but they’ve become pretty rare. If you’re looking to smooth out your ride a bit more, you could always add airbags (if your truck doesn’t already have factory ones). That’s a great way to add some extra comfort and stability to your setup. Let me know what you think or if you have any more question.

Yes Chris, Gwendolyn answered my question. I was hoping for a hitch with built in cushioning but apparently not made for the 5th wheel pin I need. Thanks so much for all your help.
