Can The Specialty Recreation RV Shower and Tub Surround Be Trimmed Down To Fit?

Question:

RE part SR85RR At 66 in height, this is too tall. Is it possible for me to trim 6 to 8 inches off the bottom. Cannot confirm from photos where the decorative tile design begins. Thanks.

Hello Doc, thanks for reaching out. I have heard of people trimming shower surrounds. If you were to cut 8" off the bottom of the Specialty Recreation RV Shower and Tub Surround # SR85RR you would be cutting thru part of the textured decorative portion, but as long as you work carefully and get a good clean cut it should be fine. You would probably want to use a fine tooth saw or similar tool. I have heard of people drilling small holes along the cut line. That might help.

Just keep in mind cutting or modifying the surround would void your warranty.

@Doc Yes I did just run out to our warehouse and measure one. There is texture starting about 2" from the bottom. The "panels" on the sides you see in the picture starts about 7" from the bottom.
