Lippert Wear Tabs Functionality

Question:
How do these wear tabs work? What exactly are we looking for? Do they pop out if something goes wrong???

The Lippert Components Universal Slide Out Wear Pad # LC103480 is just to plug up holes in the slide out arm assembly. They should not pop out without some real damage being done. You typically see these type of plugs holding various car parts in place like a bumper for example.
I've attached a picture that illustrates the use of these wear pads.
