Need Roof Rack For 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee For Carrying Tow Hullavators

Question:

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit with grooved side rails. I am looking for a roof rack for this Jeep that I can use our Thule Hullavators on. I asked a similar question on July 11, 2023, but decided to use our Expedition to transport our kayaks instead. The racks suggested then do not appear to be suitable for Hullavators. Thank you

Hey Paul, thanks for reaching out. We do have a bunch of roof rack options for the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, so we should have what you need. There are a few different roof styles for this vehicle and I will need to confirm exactly which one you have before we continue.

Does your Jeep have the black and chrome roof tracks running from front to back? Or are they matte black and gloss black? Or matte black only? Or is it naked roof? Let me know because this will determine which roof racks you can use.

Typically I recommend a Yakima JetStream roof rack to go with the Hullavator. Their crossbar design allows for longer than standard bars, which may be needed in this case.

@PaulL Got it! I did just reply to you email but I will reply on here too. I recommend doing a 60" Aero bar as that will have the necessary overhang to use a Hullavator on each side. Just do keep in mind these crossbars have a 165 lb dynamic load capacity. So with two Hullavaotrs you have to be careful not to overload.
