Can Advent Air Upper AC Unit Connect to Dometic Lower Air Box

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 09/30/2025

Question:

Hello, I have a 2010 camper that Im looking to replace the ac. It currently has the original Dometic 457915.701 Duo Therm. It is a ducted unit that is controlled by the thermostat on the wall, which also controls the gas furnace. My question is does Advent offer a direct replacement that will work with the original six pin wiring harness from the Dometic. I know GE offers a direct replacement but before I spend $1400 I wanted to see if Advent offered a replacement.

Hey Justin, at one point we actually carried a part number from Advent Air that was supposed to do exactly what you are wanting by allowing an Advent upper unit to install to a Dometic lower air distribution box but what we found was that it was not reliable and caused a lot of issues so we stopped carrying it. Also worth mentioning is that there was a recent refrigerant change required in January of 2025 so older lower units can't work with modern upper units anyway.

I would have to recommend replacing the entire setup instead like with the # ADV92SR.

Hey Justin, how did things go with replacing the AC on your camper using the full Advent setup? Your results could really help others deciding between keeping their old lower unit or upgrading everything together.
