Question:
Does the HU84ZR actually boost voltage automatically, or do I have to switch it on? Our 2012 Cougar fifth wheel keeps tripping on low power in Texas. sometimes AC stops for awhile til power is good again.

Hey Cheryl, the # HU84ZR Power Center has an automatic voltage booster built in which kicks in whenever incoming park voltage drops below about 113 volts. You don’t have to flip a switch since it senses and adds roughly 10% to bring it back into the safe zone. That’s why so many folks report running their A/Cs in crowded campgrounds without brownouts.
You’ll also get the full suite of surge protection and app monitoring, so you’ll see in real time what’s happening. Have you noticed if it’s just your A/C that suffers, or are lights/appliances dimming too?

Hey Cheryl and Andy. We mostly do full hookups on weekends and that’s when the AC hates life. I’ve been using a basic surge protector and a 30’ extension sometimes (pedestals are weirdly far at a few parks). If I go with the HU84ZR, will it still help if I’m using that long cord, or am I just asking for voltage drop no matter what?
