Question:
Does the Fogatti FG76FR work okay on just one 20-lb propane cylinder, or does it really need the bigger dual-bottle setup?
asked by: Dakota
Expert Reply:
Dakota, the Fogatti # FG76FR draws about 55,000 BTU at full fire, so a single 20-lb propane cylinder can absolutely run it. You’ll just go through fuel quicker than a 2-bottle setup, especially if you’re boondocking and using hot showers daily. But you should still have a good 7-8 hours of shower use depending on a lot of variables like temperature of water, if other gas accessories are being used etc. The twin cylinder setup is nice because you can swap one at a time. The # FG66FR is the same heater with a white door if that matches your rig better.
Do you usually camp with hookups, or are you mostly off-grid where propane supply is more critical?
