Looking for Solar Panel Kit for Brinkley Z AIR 297

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/12/2025

Question:

Just ordered a Brinkley Z AIR 297, it comes with a 370 watt solar panel, want to add a second panel its pre-wired along with a inverter and mppt. Plus upgrade the battery to a Li. Dont plan to run the air conditioner just the microwave, coffee maker and a few other assorted items on 110V while boondocking. Suggestions on what I should get to accomplish this?

Hey Tim, if you were wanting like a portable solar panel kit that you'd setup on the ground when needed the Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller # 34282610 would be a great option has a lithium compatible charge profile like you'd need. You can run this kit directly to your battery and it will also play nice with your current solar setup as well.

Were you looking for this type of setup or something that would mount to your roof.

Hey Tim, did you decide on the portable solar panel kit, or were you thinking about a roof-mounted option? I'm asking because your experience could help others looking to enhance their solar setup for boondocking.

@JamesonC After much research I'm going with a rooftop add. Just need to find the right panel, there is one existing that is a 370 watt, however the manufacturer of that panel charges so much for shipping that I'll be looking for an alternative. Planning on a 3000 Watt Inverter, a couple of 300 AH LiFePO4 batteries (w/low temp cutoff), 500 A battery monitor with shunt plus a bunch of minor but important parts to complete the system.

@TimC Is it a single panel that is 370 watt or a kit like the part # e99FV which is two?
