Question:
I currently have old school 2006 version awning that is 20 footer, can I put in a 21 footer if all new and no clearance issues or is it based on wall stud locations?

Hi John; an awning like the Solera XL 12V Power RV Awning # LC65FR does need to mount using your wall studs to be able to properly support the awning. It is possible to install a wider awning if you have the clearance but you also need to make sure you can hit the studs with your screws. Since it is just slightly wider you're probably going to have one arm that won't line up. If you want to replace it with the XL I would stick with the 20' # LCV000334969-362243.

Hi John, did you decide to go with the 20-foot awning or try the 21-foot one? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you, as it could help others in a similar situation.
