Troubleshooting Innolight Sliding Electric Step That Wont Fully Retract

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/05/2025

Question:

While reviewing the manual Innolight Sliding Electric Step on page 10 in manual 574-537-8900, I noticed that troubleshooting emergency operation steps 2 through 4 involve releasing the pin. This is necessary because our RV Gretch step is stuck in the fully extended position. Since my sliding step is stuck and Ive used an air compressor to blow out the part, it will only retract about a quarter of its slide.

Thanks for sharing those details. I reviewed the troubleshooting steps in the manual, and since the step now only retracts partway after using the compressor, it may need to be taken into a shop for inspection. I’d also recommend reaching out to the manufacturer for additional troubleshooting.

I also want to note that the step you have is designed for the UK/EU market, so we’re not able to provide any sort of replacement parts, only a full replacement step if needed. However, if a replacement is needed and you want to stick with the OEM step, you would need to reach out to RV manufacturer for the exact replacement.

Hey, did you have a chance to reach out to the manufacturer for more troubleshooting on your RV step? I'd love to hear your outcome, as it could help others facing a similar issue with their steps.
