Which Wedge for Lippert Turning Point Pin Box and Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch

Updated 09/10/2025 | Published 09/03/2025

Question:

I purchased a new fifth wheel with the curt turning point pin box and the wedge was missing. I have a Reese 20k pro series slider that was purchased new in 2017, can you point me in the correct direction of what wedge I will need? Thanks.

Hey Nate, the correct wedge you need for your Reese fifth wheel hitch would be the part # LC79UD. That's an interesting hitch combo. That's the Pro Series slider base which is a square tube which was the more value based option at the time combined with the top of the line at the time Reese single hook fifth wheel hitch head. How do you like it? Does the slider slide smoothly?

Thanks for the reply. As far as the slider it workes great, im not a fan of the constant clunking that comes from it being a slider. Thanks again.

@NateN Yeah they used to tell us back in the day that the square tube slider wasn't as smooth or quiet as the round tube slider they sold at the time. But in general slider hitches are just a bit noisier.
