How Much Weight Can The D Ring And Pintle Hitch Handle On Patriot Balll Mount PH45NR ?

Question:
How much weight can the D-ring handle on this hitch? I pull heavy trailer with my tractor's d ring I welded up but sometimes need it behind my Silverado 2500 as well (short distances, not on the road)

Melissa, the built-in D-ring on the Patriot Ball Mount # PH45NR is rated for 25,000 lbs, making it great for off-road recovery or securing loads. For pulling a trailer, normally the ball itself or the pintle hitch is used, but the d ring could work for off-road use like you mentioned. Either way, it's all rated for 25k lbs.
Do you already keep recovery straps in your tractor or truck?
