Adhesive Recommendation for Sticking Mirror of 1997 American Dream Back On
Updated 08/28/2025 | Published 08/21/2025 >
Question:
I have a 1997 American dream. our lower wide angle mirrors fell off. they are just glued on to a plastic piece. it looks like there is maybe a sticky rubber seal that they fell off from. I am not sure if this is just the type of glue/adhesive they used or if there is an actual piece but I wanted to tap your knowledge as I need to put them back on to be able to drive the RV. do you sell a product that can remount the bottom wide angle mirrors?

Hey Jamen, there isn't a specific adhesive for that application that is recommended so what i would do is basically just find the strongest adhesive you can get and use that to put the mirror back on. I've had really good luck with "liquid nails" so if it was me that is what I would grab at a local hardware store and use.

Jameson, My only concern is that the location gets a lot of vibration and it looks like there is some kind of rubberized pad that is designed to absorb the vibration. Do you feel that the "liquid nails" you recommended would not vibrate and eventually shake the mirror off? I want to make sure I dont loose a mirror while in tranist somewhere. is there gasket for something I may be able to buy that I could use the liquid nails on to nail to the rv and then again the mirror to it? I can send you pictures of the plate the mirror goes on if that would help us find a good permanent solution. one side the backing pretty well came off the other side still has the backing on it however it is very dirty.
