Rear Sway Bar Upgrade that Fits 2021 Tiffin Wayfarer 25Tw Sprinter 3500XD Chassis

Question:

We have a 2021 Tiffin Wayfarer 25Tw with a 2020 Mercedes 3500XD chassis. Is the sway bar for the 3500 the same as the 3500XD? My RV garage mechanic is not confident enough the part is correct to order it.

Hey Carolyn, the XD versions of the Sprinter 3500 chassis are the dually versions so you would need to make sure the sway bar you have is compatible with dually models. For example the Hellwig # HE77YR is a bar that does work with the dually models and would be correct fit. Do you know which bar you have?

Yes we have the dual tires. I have no idea which bar we have. How do I tell? I can try & take a picture & really look at it but crawling way under there is tough. Is the Hellwig sway bar as sturdy & good as the Roadmaster or Super Steer SS110?

@Carolyn Who bought the bar? I'd check the receipt to see if you can find a part number and go from there. Is the bar installed already? All three of those brands make solid sway bars.

We bought used. Had it for 9mos. Everything about the unit seems to be a guessing game. The chassis is all original I assume. We have lots of rocking & sway. Trying to improve the handling of the Wayfarer. Our mechanic isn't confident he can order the right sway bar for the RV, so I was trying to find the right parts myself for the 3500XD vs the so many 3500's. (Doesn't help that Mercedes shop that worked on the rv once marked the chassis 2500 on the bill which threw everyone off. If you could tell me the sway bars that fit the 3500XD (Hellwig included) & any other suggestions such as shocks I would appreciate that.

@Carolyn All we have is the Hellwig part # HE77YR for the dually models. Then for a rear set of SumoSprings part # SSR-338-54 would be a great option to provide additional stability.
