Which BioLite Portable Power Station Is Best For Tailgating And Camping With Electric Cooler?
Published 08/12/2025 >
Question:
I do a lot of weekend tailgating and camping trips, and I’m debating between the BaseCharge 600+ and 1500+. I mostly run a mini electric cooler, a Bluetooth speaker, and charge my phone. Which one is the better fit for me?

Jake, for your setup, the BaseCharge 600+ # BL23ZR would probably be plenty. It’ll give you around 15 hours of run time for a small electric cooler and still have room for dozens of phone and speaker charges.
If you ever think you might add power-hungry gear like an induction cooktop or a bigger fridge, that’s when the 1500+ # BL83ZR becomes worth it. It’s heavier but can run larger loads much longer. Either way, both are quiet, fume-free, and recharge quickly from wall, car, or solar.
How often do you camp off-grid with no recharge option? That could help narrow it down.
