Question:

I have a "fleet" of two new 2022 Ford F-250s that came with the factory bed pucks. I need to get a hitch to use with them, but I really only need one for now. The only thing is, one is a long bed and one is a short bed. Probably should have gone with matching bed sizes, but oh well. The short bed is more the get to work and drive around truck and the long bed is pretty much just the work truck, but I do use both to tow with. Do you have an option that I can use with both trucks? would really prefer to not have to get 2 hitches just yet. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Finding a hitch that will work with a short bed and long bed 2022 For F-250 with the factory pucks is actually easier than you think. Reason being, a sliding 5th wheel hitch can actually be used in both short bed trucks as well as long bed trucks. Now you will not want to actually slide the hitch when using one in a long bed, but other than that, it will work perfectly.

With that said, I highly recommend going with the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # C16545-16020. This is rated up to 24,000 pounds and will give you 12" of travel when you need to make sharp turns. One of the reasons I am suggesting this hitch is that if you prefer not to use the sliding base, the Curt OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch Legs # C16017 can easily and quickly be swapped out for the sliding base. So you do have another option if you don't want to use the sliding hitch base for both.
