Will B&W Companion BWRVK3600 Work On 2020 Ram 3500 With 6.5' Bed?

Question:
Looking at your BandW BWRVK3600 25k hitch. Notice it says 8 bed in ad. Have a 2020 Ram 3500 6.5 bed. Want to use on Dutchmen Voltage 42 has rounded corners on fiberglass front nose. Any red flags I need to know?

Hello Ward, thanks for reaching out. The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3600 will work on your 2020 Ram 3500 with the 6.5' bed. We typically recommend the slider version for the shorter bed to help with turning clearance, but the puck spacing for both bed sizes is exactly the same.
With the 6.5' bed and the 5th wheel with a rounded nose, you should be good to use the # BWRVK3600 fixed hitch. You will want to carefully test your turning clearance once you are hooked up just to be sure, but with the rounded corners you SHOULD be good. That said each truck and trailer combo is different so please test this and verify before you hit the road. That is really the only red flag to be aware of, the clearance on tight turns.
The following formula can help determine your turning clearance:
(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the fifth wheel jaw center to the truck cab
B = Offset used (slider clearance or Sidewinder offset)
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2
