Can I Mix and Match the Thermostat and AC System on my RV?

Question:
I have a 2013 jayco 28dsbh Im wondering if I can replace the old coleman-machine I think its called thermostat with a Dometic 3316250.700 Digital one. The coleman one has 6 wires and the dometic has 3.

Hey Chad, thanks for reaching out!
We've been getting a LOT of questions about AC compatibility with different parts, and what we're finding out is that you need to use the exact same part as a replacement. The only time a different brand or setup might work is if you have a qualified technician who knows how to get things to communicate with each other like that - and even then, it isn't a guarantee to work.
What I recommend doing is either trying to find the exact same thermostat, or replacing your entire AC setup. If you choose to replace the entire thing the 15K Btu Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV92SR is a great option to consider using.
