Is Drilling Involved To Install A Rhino Rack Backbone Mounting System On A 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser?

Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/31/2025

Question:

I am about to purchase a new Toyota Land Cruiser 1958 model. Will this roof rack attach to the factory attachment points? Do not want to drill any holes. Will buy the new truck without any roof rack if this Rhino rack will attach to factory points

Hi Edward!

The Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack - Backbone Mounting System - 83" Long x 49" Wide # RR46QG will require absolutely no drilling for the install on a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser (with or without the factory rails). Which is nice, because that's a sweet ride! We had an '86 Land Cruiser growing up and I always thought the round lights looked way cooler than the rectangular ones, so I very much like the 1958 Edition.

I would definitely go without the factory rails if you can though. They will need to be unbolted and removed for the Rhino Rack # RR46QG to install as it will bolt right into those attachment points. It's a pretty straight forward install.

What are you wanting to use this for? Haven't seen much of it yet, but I can see this being a wicked overlanding vehicle!

Hey Edward, Did you decide to go with the Rhino Rack for your Land Cruiser? I'm curious how the installation went and if it's working out for your needs. Let me know because I'd love to help others who might be in the same boat!
