Question:

Hi! I have a: 2016 Ford F150 XLT non-tow package but with factory 4-way connector. I want to add a: 7-way connector I prefer the side by side 4 and 7-way mount. This harness appears to be the way to go, from the wiring perspective. C56413. But, please confirm. I’m not sure what mounting plate to use with this harness and what I need to get the 4-7 combo at the same time. Please advise. Thanks for the help!

Hello Chad, thanks for reaching out. Sounds like you are on the right track here. The Curt # C56413 is correct for your 2016 Ford F-150 XLT, and you can use the # C36GJ socket to make it into a 7-way/4-flat combo. Those two parts actually cover everything you would need.

The # C36GJ socket comes with a bracket and a few self tapping screws. That will allow you to mount the socket in the location of your choosing. Typically the best location will be on the rear bumper to the left (drivers side) of your hitch receiver. Or you could even put the screws right into the crosstube of your trailer hitch.
