Question:
I am looking to purchase a ShakeStopper hitch for my 5th wheel bumper. Part Number: MNT82VR I have a 2022 Forest River Flagstaff 529 ikrl trailer. Will my bumper support the full 500 pounds that this hitch part is rated for? I plan to load a 420 pound motorcycle and 50 pound motorcycle hitch carrier to it, so I will need nearly the full 500 pounds of capacity. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance!

Hey Nick, thanks for reaching out. The ShakeStopper Extreme Duty for Heavy-Hauler 5.3" RV Bumpers # MNT82VR is rated for 500 lbs. Sadly, I do not have a way to look up your camper to know exactly what bumper you have. RV manufacturers just are not that specific with their online literature.
If your bumper is the 5.3" square it should be higher rated. I have seen some heavy-hauler bumpers rated for 500-600 lbs. You will need to either refer to your owners manual or contact a dealership and have them confirm the weight capacity of the bumper. There may be a sticker on the bumper that shows a capacity but please confirm. Especially with the about of weight you plan to put on it you will need to be 100% sure it is rated for 500 lbs or more.

Hey Nick, did you manage to find out if your bumper can handle the weight of your motorcycle and carrier? I'm curious because it could really help others in a similar situation.
