Can Active Controls ActiveStart be Used with Dometic RV AC Unit and Honda EU2200i Generator
Updated 08/15/2025 | Published 07/24/2025 >
Question:
Dear sir / Madame, Will the 30 amp active controls active start device allow my Honda EU2200i Companion generator, to power my rv’s dometic B57915.711C0 2016 model rated at 13,500 btus? Your literature says minimum generator output is 2300 amps, and the Honda is rated at 2200 Amps. However several online videos show that this combination works with your soft start device, if you minimize other electronic use - microwave, toaster, etc. I look forward to your response, and hopefully, being able to expand our camping opportunities with your soft start device. Best regards, Craig

Hey J, yes the Active Controls ActiveStart Plug-In Soft Start for RVs # AS44FR will work great with your Dometic RV AC unit and your Honda Companion generator as long as you aren't running a bunch of other electronics at same time like you mentioned. Do you have many other accessories running?
