Troubleshooting 2011 Ford Mustang Curt Wiring Without a Solid Ground
Updated 07/30/2025 | Published 07/23/2025 >
Question:
I have installed this and double checked my wiring connections, but every pin on the 4 pin connector is solid on except ground. I am thinking there is something wrong with the module itself. Please advise. Thanks

Hey John, thanks for reaching out!
When you say the pins on the Curt 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # C56496 are solid, do you mean they light up the light on your tester except the ground? The ground pin won't show power, but could pose an issue if you're testing for continuity and not getting a great reading.
If you can give me a little more insight I'd be more than happy to help you continue to troubleshoot!

I appreciate you getting back to me. I actually figured it out myself. I had the power and ground to the module reversed. Once I corrected it, everything worked as it should. Thanks again! John
