Question:

We boondock a lot in Northern California and Oregon and I’ve seen folks get fined for non-approved generators. Is this compliant? -Greg in Redding, CA

Good question, Greg.

The 6k watt diesel Onan Generator # CM94RR is fully compliant with U.S. Forest Service regulations and includes a USDA-approved spark arrestor muffler. It meets California and EPA emissions standards and is safe to run in fire-restricted areas where generators are allowed.

Just make sure the exhaust is clear of dry grass or brush, and as always, check local regs before heading out. But if you're legal to run a gen, this one meets every federal standard on the books.

Hey Greg, Did you get a chance to try out the 6k watt diesel Onan Generator during your boondocking trips? I'm curious to know how it worked for you in those fire-restricted areas. Your experience could really help others who are looking for compliant generator options.
