Updated 08/07/2025 | Published 06/30/2025

Question:

Im looking at purchasing a new Grand Design Imagine XLS travel trailer that has two 3,500 pound axles 6395 GVWR. Is this suspension kit a good fit for that setup? Thanks!

Hey Don, congrats on your new potential purchase. The Dexter E-Z Flex Suspension Kit item # K71-652-00 would indeed be a great way to upgrade your Grand Design's equalizers. I do not have anyway of knowing if they fit though but I can tell you what measurements you'll need to confirm they do.

From the left to the right mounting holes is 5-3/4" and from the top to the bottom mounting holes are 2" on the item # K71-652-00 so long as your current ones are close to this they'll work as a replacement. If these don't match up just let me know what you do end up with and I can find you a better replacement option.

Please note you will also need to replace your shackles and bolts when you swap out the equalizers. These bolts are not designed to be torqued down more than once. I recommend going with a set like the MORryde 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps item # MR46ZR. These have greaseable bolts that allow for easy lubrication of your suspension system. In order to identify the correct set you'll want to measure from the center to center bolt holes on one of your shackle straps.

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Reply to Jerred H and I'll be happy to answer them.
